MS NOW's Rachel Maddow issued a dark warning to viewers on Monday: the Trump administration is preparing for everything to hit the fan after the midterms—and is delaying every policy that could cause chaos until the election is done."See if you can spot the pattern here," Maddow, noting a recent headline that the Trump administration is delaying new abortion policies. "Trump's Justice Department wants to take action to further criminalize abortion somehow. But they've been told that they need to wait on that until after the midterms. Then they can go ahead. That was two-and-a-half weeks ago."Meanwhile, she said, Trump has also delayed another attack on Iran until the midterm elections. "So, Trump intends to ramp back up his super-successful, totally-rational, fantastically popular war with Iran, but he says he's going to wait on that until after the midterms. Are you starting to notice the pattern?"That's just the start, said Maddow. Trump is also planning a number of policy changes that could hit people in the pocketbook and at the pharmacy. For example, said Maddow, Trump's administration also just delayed a tariff-related rule that would threaten U.S. access to Canadian prescription imports. "Literally, millions of individual Americans who would be paying hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more for the prescriptions they need for their health ... because of a new Donald Trump Hates Canada rule." It was supposed to take effect this week, but now Trump has delayed it.Meanwhile, she continued, "The Treasury Department is moving forward with plans to hire private debt collectors" for student loans — but the plans are on hold until after the midterms. One source told the Washington Sun, "It would be politically insane to do this before the midterms.""But after the midterms, let 'er rip, right?" said Maddow. "Donald Trump is planning to sic private debt collectors on 10 million Americans for their student loans, but they're not going to announce that they're doing that until after the midterms. I mean, these are not things that are befalling them, right? These are all things they have done, or they plan to do." - YouTube www.youtube.com
