Sony's PlaYStation Network was experiencing network issues today, July 24, but those problems now seem to have been resolved. As usual, your mileage may vary, but the hours-long outage now seems to be fixed.
The official PlayStation Status page notes that, "All services are up and running."
The outage earlier today was severe. All services were initially impacted, including account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.
The website Downdetector notes that the PSN issues had been going on for hours before things improved. People reported issues with logging in, launching games, and connecting to servers.
And.... we're back!
Whenever the PSN goes down, it's unfortunate, but the timing was especially tough for people wanting to try the Marvel Tokon multiplayer beta that started today, July 24.
"We're aware that some PlayStation players are experiencing login and network issues. Our team is actively investigating the problem and working to identify the cause. We'll share updates as soon as we have more information," the developers wrote.
On the PlayStation Status page, Sony wrote, "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."
That work has now been concluded, it seems, with services restored to normal operation.
