Mace joined Jimenez on "CNN Newsroom," where she was asked about the upcoming election to replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)'s seat and recent comments she made about Muslims. A few days ago, Mace claimed that Muslims holding office are "Trojan horses." On Sunday, she followed that up with a post that many people found to be Islamophobic. "Are you saying that anyone who is Muslim is a threat to this country?" Jimenez asked. Mace explained that she was only referring to elected officials who are Muslim, such as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. She then claimed that Mamdani campaigned with people who share anti-American values, and suggested those associates may have participated in a terrorist attack. "Congresswoman, there's no indication that Mayor Mamdani has brought any of those ideals to New York City governance, or that just being muslim allows you to bring those in," Jimenez countered.Mace then pointed to a recent march in Dearborn, Illinois, of more than 45,000 Shia Muslims, arguing that it was an attempt to force Americans to accept their culture. "Expression of culture, Congresswoman, is different than a blanket city policy," Jimenez said.
